Para dizer cadeira de balanço em inglês, utilize:

Rocking chair

Exemplo de uso:

We've gone from the grandmother in the rocking chair to the new aerobicizing grandmother image. [Sun-sentinel.com - USA]

Bons estudos.

Ops!
Minha avó está sentada na cadeira de balanço.
-My granny is sitting in the rocking chair.

Eu vou me sentar na cadeira de balanço.
-I will sit in the rocking chair.

Aproveitando...

Olá pessoal,
O “in” (the rocking chair) é usado porque essa cadeira tem braços (apoio para os antebraços) e a gente senta “dentro” deles, ou é indiferente, podendo ser “on”?

It caught my eye too, Zumsteim.
Yet, I saw it this way on some sites from UK, even in this one from a writer:

She came every evening and sat in the rocking chair to watch for him, to pray for him,...

So it might, sometimes, be found. Perhaps it is an UK´s thing, or maybe it´s not.
Fact is, that you can see it somewhere with other preposition different of the expected "ON". We learned this way, tough.

I am the one that is demanding towards me, and relaxed towards others, so in a conversation I would let it pass, mainly if it was a writer that said that to me.
If it was a student, I would explain that it sounds not commom, sort of, but it can be found, anyway.
Perhaps, if I forgot and said it myself, then I would flog myself with a cat o´nine tails. :D

Minha professora de inglês da Cultura uma vez me explicou exatamente isso. "In" no lugar de "on" pois dá a ideia "dentro".

As if the woman ''lived", sort of, in the chair. Thanks Rakell for your unvaluable insight.
