Interviews are non-threatening conversations used to gather information the interviewee should not be reluctant to provide freely. Interrogations are usually hostile, at least to a degree, and are used to gain in formation the subject does not want known and to determine the reliability of the party interrogated.

Thomas o melhor jeito então é usar ambos como verbo to interrogation e to interview?

Victor, as I gather from the exposed above. Interview and interrogation could be "interrogatório" in Portuguese, but...
Interview is more to clarify/to sift through the facts, one could be "invited" to the police police station to be asked questions/quizzed. So it could be someone that is a suspect, an accomplice, a person of interest/ someone that knows about a crime. Including here the suspect (that may be a perpetrator of a crime, the investigation will say.) [so "apuração dos fatos"]

Interrogation would be "less soft", with the help of wathever you have at hands (polygraphs, interrogation practices, photos, evidences etc.), since you have a suspect (or a group). It less about the
Questioning, but to discover to what extent the alleged criminal or group did wrong, and to tipify who did which, the interactions, etc.

The problem is, that many times in Portuguese we use the word "interrogatório" almost loosely to both definitions (questionamento/interrogatório).
And if I am mistaken or not accurate, at least we got closer to the meaning that we were before.
