Although ''on the forum'' is more common, it is possible to say ''in the forum'' as well, as far as I can tell.
Here's my piece of advice for you : whenever you find yourself in doubt about the correct use of a preposition refering to internet or stuff like that, for instance, facebook, twitter, youtube and so on and so forth. I advice you to opt for the prepostion ''on''.
