(1) Number One is a techno hip hop song composed by the Japanese-American production duo Mash (Martin Lascelles and Shiro Sagisu). Lascelles is the lyricist. The song is interpreted by Hazel Fernandes. The back vocals are Gina Foster and Derek Green. Bill Liesegang is the guitarist. Sagisu was also resposible for the music synthesizer and programming. Philip Bagenal helped Sagisu to record and mix the song at Eastcote Studios in London. Alan O'Connel assisted them. The song is considered an international theme of Ichigo Kurosaki, the protagonist of Tite Kubo's Bleach manga and anime series. The song is the 21st track from Bleach Original Soundtrack 1 and it was released on May 18, 2005.

(2) Martin Lascelles is the director of Sky Music Studio 24, a recording studio located in Bergerac, France. He worked as a director at Props Records Label from 1994 to 2005. He is a British producer and keyboard player. He was a member of Loren and Mash, a multinational musical group which was consisted of Sagisu and the British singer, Loren, whose real name is Lorrain Briscoe. The group released albums for RO-JAMs and King Records in the late 90's.

(3) Shirō Sagisu (鷺巣 詩郎, Sagisu Shirō) has a carrer spanning over 40 years. He was born on August 29, 1957 in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. He started his career in 1977 when he was one of the members of T-Square, a jazz fusion band. His works are record productions with several choir members such as Mike Wyzgowski, Misia, Satoshi Tomiie and Ken Hirai. He worked as a composer for several TV anime series and movies. By 1997, he had composed over 2,000 songs, advertising jingles for TV and movie pieces. He won the Tokyo Anime Award for Best Music in 2010 for the movie Evangelion: 2.0 - You Can Not Advance.

(4) Hazel Fernandes is a British house music artist and a vocal coach currently signed to Grape Records. She has worked on live stage shows with many artists such as Tom Jones, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, Alexander O'Neal, Dina Carroll, Belinda Carlisle and Michelle Gayle. She has also been involved in some movie soundtracks and British commercials. Fernandes has also worked in theater. Over the course of her career she has recorded three albums with major labels and worked on many other recordings both mainstream and commercial. The last few years have seen her working and touring with artists such as Kylie Minogue (on her Homecoming tour), Jamiroquai and Massive Attack. She has also performed with the London Philharmonic and the RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin, Ireland in 2007.

(5) To want a piece of someone is an idiom, which means to want a share of someone's time. The American colloquialism wanna get a piece of me? dates back to 1953 and it means a challenge to a fight. The derogatory sense of that expression means someone is regarded as a sex object.
