Prepositons after or before

I do not know what kind of verbs can come with prepositons after or when we use prepositions before .

for example : I affirm you it's not what look like .
OR : I affirm to you it's not what look like .

Help! Can be the both form or not , and do not know the exeptions ,the rules,anything...
