Qual usar: "Have had" ou "Had had"?

A frase "eu devia ter tido coragem" ficaria:

I should have had the courage

Ou

I should had had the courage?

Obrigado

I should have had the courage.
When using modal verbs the following verb has to be in the infinitive form without TO. Like in :
If I had bought the car I would have traveled a lot.

I would have= Eu teria viajado (o modal would tem a função de auxiliar que dá um significado específico para o verbo principal). Nesse caso o would tem o siginificado de -ira para qualquer verbo que acompanhe.
I would like = eu gostaria
I would go = eu iria
I would have = Eu teria
*todos os modal verbs são seguidos pelo verbo no presente pois eles já foram "moldados" pelo would para ter um sentido de -irá.
Hope it helps

Hey
Well, they are present perfect (have had) and past perfect (had had). As a conclusion you must see the difference between these two verb tenses.

Quickly tip:

Past Perfect- used to talk about past of past; you did something before another.
Ex: By the time I bought my car,I had (already) bought my house.

Resent Perfect: when you make something in the past and it is still having any effect.
Ex: I have eatten an apple. (I ate it but it's still inside of me)

Obs: sorry for any grammar mistake.
