Se estiver se referindo a herpes labial o melhor termo é "cold sore"
The white type of oral thrush is also called "florid" trush, and is the one we usually think when we think about "sapinho".it appears as a white coating or curdish patches on the tongue and other interior surfaces of the mouth.
The red type is called "erythematous candidiasis".
There is also the "Angular cheilitis" and "median rhomboid glossitis: ". But these are more known by doctors, so we usually don't identify them, we see the doctor when symptoms come up
Ref. mdanderson
In online sites where they talk (mostly moms, but everyone could express it) about oral thrush in babies or child is common to mentio just the word "thrush", as in "what is the signs of trush in babies?"
In academic writing "oral thrush/thrush infection/candidiasis infection/oral candidiasis/oropharyngeal candidiasis", and so on...
In Portuguese beware the meaning, "sapinho" can be that infection, but in lighter contexts it could mean "a little frog".
