Morning!
1)
Yep, till is the shortened form of UNTIL. And it is more informal in style.

2) No, 1 pound would be = 0.45359237 kilograms, or you could in a loosely way to
say it´s a half-kilo (not in recipes, please, they sell graduated jars with the measures in kilos, pounds, grams, cups etc)
==========================================================
On the other way, in proverbs it may be translated into kilos, like this:
'An ounce of example is worth a pound of exhortation.
'Um grama de exemplo vale mais do que um quilo de exortação.' (source:linguee)
===============================================
The other pound is the currency in U.K. (wich, they say, were to be replaced by the Euro, but seems like it coexists with the Euro up to day.)

Do you think I can lose a pound or two till Saturday?
As I said, it could be "Você acha que eu posso perder um quilo ou meio até sábado?'', in the present context.
It worth noticing that "I', week days, months, are all of them capitalized in English. Always.
Today is Sunday, the month is April and I am happy.
Altough the weather is a bit cloudy.

Congrats on your expressing yourself, your English is going from strenght to strenght, you will get there, where there´s a will there´s a way.
