Um diretor de escola (que age na base do faça o que eu digo, mas não faça o que eu faço) tem deixado os pais irados depois de ter ignorado as leis que proibem matar/gazear/gazetear aula (isto é, incorrer em faltas injustificadas geralmente para passear...se divertir etc) e levá-lo para viajar para fora do Reino Unido, numa viagem para curtir o sol num dia de folga da família.


The parts you left out were needed to the understanding of the story, for instance , the bit "and took his own child out of classes..." was part of the chunk "to jet off..."
One reading that would think, maybe the guy had a reason to took his child out of classes...so why the furore?


The same goes to the information that the guy was a "school governor" (diretor), without that part the reader wouldn´t know that he added insult to injury.
