Hi, guys! I know you have discussed "programa de calouros" as talent show, but my doubt is on "programa de auditório", like the ones Silvio Santos hosts. How could we say this in English? Thank you!

I'm not sure how they call it in England and Canada but in the US it's called television variety program the best example in the US is the Ed Sullivan show.

Yes, we could say: Sunday "Programa Silvio Santos" variety show (and also the flagship program of SBT channel). "Show do Milhão" was a game show. By the way, programs with a live audience (auditório) OR if you wish 'live-audience based TV shows (which is shot - 'filmada' - and features the audience's reaction to the show itself, in real time).
