She is always joshing him about about his bald patch.

Her novels poke fun at the upper class.

She’s always poking fun at herself.

In terms of being pesky or treating someone with contempt.

I'd say mock someone like

You're always moking about people's choices, why is that?

but when it comes to simple jokes I'd rather say

joke someone like

he joked about his classmate's answers

plus

make fun of

He made fun of his classmate's answers

Take care guys,

(Make fun of)

I made fun of him when he couldn't answer the teacher's question correctly.
ou

(Diss)

I dissed him when he couldn't answer the teacher's question correctly.

Adding:

to amuse yourself at someone's expense = tirar onda, tirar um barato, tirar com a cara de alguém
Example:
Frequently, when I return home from work, I find my wife drinking with some of her friends. I don’t mind if she drinks, that is ok with me. But often my wife and her friends become very drunk and start insulting me and amusing themselves at my expense.

hold a person up to ridicule

are you fuckin' with me? - tá me tirando? / tá tirando uma com a minha cara?
don't f*ck with me! - não brinca comigo! / não vacila!

scoff - to laugh or say things to show that you think someone or something is stupid or deserves no respect
Example: It's easy to scoff when you haven't tried it yourself.

To make a (wise)crack at sb/about sth

He made some wisecrack about my lack of culinary ability. Cmbridge Dictionary

Don't make a crack at my brother or I'll pound you to dust.
