No contexto de medicina, "simulation" serviria muito bem.

Ex. The use of simulation is a great educational tool to enhance our students education.

Aulas simuladas = mock teaching; mock lessons; simulated teaching/lessons

Potencialmente, duas interpretações para:

1. Aulas práticas = laboratory lesson; labs; experiments
2. Aulas práticas = actual classroom teaching; real lessons

Provavelmente, sem mais contexto,

Teachers-in-training will (have to) conduct mock teaching and actual teaching. (or)

During their practicum, student teachers will...

Practicum = the period during which teachers-in-training work in schools doing their practice teaching.

Não está faltando a students um apóstrofo, não?

"[...] our students' education."

Henry, how about when the practical lessons are had by medical students in a simulation environment? Are there other expressions that can be used in addition to 'practical lessons'? It sometimes sounds Portuglish to me.
