Nesse caso "I just came from my work."

"Lame excuse" is a common expression, especially among young people. It's slang, of course, and it's been in use since at least the 1960s.

My favorite is the young woman working as the receptionist, who after exhausting all other lame excuses, missed work yet again. When called to inquire why she hadn't come in to work, she blithely replied (and I swear this is TRUE)...

No, no need to repeat "ever".

A common lame excuse in English is "It seemed like a good idea at the time." And how about "I didn't know it was loaded"?
