Poderia utilizar também "let someone in on something" = contar um segredo a alguém, deixar alguém a par de uma situação.
Exemplos:
I’d been on vacation for 30 days when John Browm let me in on the boss’s new decisions.
Eu estava de férias por 30 dias, quando John Brown me deixou a par sobre as novas decisões do chefe.
