The same place - past and present
The street where I live (has) changed a little bit over the years. In the past, it was not paved and there were few buildings around. Also, the neighborhood was very quiet and the car traffic was almost nonexistent. Nowadays, it is the main commercial area of / in the neighborhood and there are a lot of shops and buildings around. Moreover, the car traffic is so high / heavy that sometimes it's difficult to get the car into / out of the garage ("put the car" or "pull the car" would also work. "Taking the car into the garage" usually means taking the car to a repair shop).
A "garage" is by definition an enclosed space, so you would put your car "in" it and take your car "out of it". Still, good job.
