"The frog in well knows nothing of the great ocean" - Achei tal frase realmente estranha... Não seria correto "frog in the well"?

Para efeito didático podemos entender isto como duas partes "the frog in well" - "knows nothing of the great ocean".
Though the Japanese proverb is best understood in this unabridged (uncut) form "The frog in the well knows nothing of the sea". Meaning that one should be aware of the limitations of one's own experience.
"In well" can be used, though.

Acredito que me expressei mal, se me permite. Eu estou com dúvida sobre ser CERTO ou ERRADO gramaticalmente nessa frase apenas usar "in well" ao invés de "in the well"
