There is no significant difference between "to get ready" and "to get set". - Thomas

- I am getting ready to study. = I am getting set to study.
- Are you ready? = Are you set?

- I was just set to go when the phone rang.
- Eu estava pronto para ir quando o telefone tocou.

- Get set (=get ready) for a night of excitement.
- Prepare-se para uma noite de empolgação.

- Be set to leave by 10 o'clock.
- Esteja pronto para sair por volta das 10 horas.

- Shall we go now - is everyone set?
- Vamos agora - está todo mundo pronto?
