"How do you do" x "How do you do it": Como utilizar

Hi folks!
"How do you do?" is a greeting, as everyone probably knows.
"How do you do it?" can be used to ask someone how that person would do or did some task or procedure. But perhaps as often it has another meaning, that of admiringly asking someone how he or she manages to get so much done. Put a little more stress on the second DO to drive this meaning.
A friend of mine told me a story about a meeting between presidents Dutra and Truman where they apparently greeted each other as follows.
ruman: "How do you do, Dutra!"
Dutra: "How do you true Truman!"
