Of Hers e Of Him: Como utilizar?

Well, I was looking some sites and I just read a sentence that says: "I will invite her to the party, but do not tell friends of hers." the translation would be: "Vou convida-la para a festa, mas não conte para amigos dela", but does not it would be just like that "I will invite her to the party, but do not tell her friends". And, if it is right, does it applies to third male person just like that "I will invite him to the party, but do not tell friends of him (or) hims" ?
