Hi Milena!

Depende do que você quer dizer.
Embora sejam parecidos os significados são:

... somebody else = alguém a mais, uma outra pessoa

A different person = alguém diferente.

Pq someone different estaria incorreto ?

Because "someone different" can´t be used as "someone else", that´s it.

Someone different - as per your music definition might have the meaning of someone that is different in character from the others the guy know (want.), that person that have some character trait that is desireable and attractive to him.
Whereas somebody else means "outra pessoa".

If I said
I like you because I always was in pursuit of someone different from others. It means that you may have qualities that set you apart from the others (mostly "the others" that I know.)

If I said
I like you because I was in pursuit of somebody that reminded me of somebody else. You wouldn´t be any flattered, perhaps would become fed up, you don´t want to be somebody else (outra pessoa) or be in their place.

A young girl could half-jokingly (or not) say to her boyfriend: If you don´t like my mini-skirt as it is, somebody else will do! (Uh oh...!)

Granted, don´t know what is the thought of Milena, so it would depend on context.
Anyway, it only could be one either one thing or the other, not the same sentences and meanings.
