As a federal public servant since 1994, I do partly agree with the book author where he says yes, a great parcel of the nation's young job seekers would rather jump on the public servant gravy train than on the private one. I do not entirely agree with his painting public service as a giant, cost-gobbling monster, though. If Brazil, however, fired its more than 1 million of federal public servants, we'd certainly experience a lull in public service plus we'd see a sudden increase in people selling icecream popsicles on the beach. No kidding.
