Fall over - Tradução em português

anita 13
Hi! I read in a reader "He falls over a tree...", but I found the translation as "drop from a place". In fact, in the picture, the man doesn't fall from the tree, but he trips on the tree. What about it? Can you explain? Thanx!

Hi there

De acordo com o dicionário Cambridge, temos:

fall over - If someone or something falls over, they fall to the ground or onto their side.
Example: Be careful! You're going to fall over!
The fence fell over in the wind.

to drop - to let fall
to trip - to fall or almost fall because you hit your foot on something when you are walking or running

Você poderia descrever melhor a figura?
Bem, espero que a explicação a ajude entender melhor

wow, that's pretty nice. Yes, Aline, according to the picture, the man trips over a tree, and that's why I was confused with the verb fall over. According to Kelvin, it totally makes sense :-) Thank you all!

You'd have to be a giant to fall over a tree. Perhaps in a mythical tale...
