This is not a word you're going to see much used anymore. "Infirmary" is a very old word, related to the word "infirm" (feeble, especially from old age). We would generally say "hospital". In fact, this is the largest hospital in Aberdeen, Scotland, and the name is probably from a couple of centuries ago.

If you are thinking of small outfits in schools, work, or military posts, consider using something like health centre, clinic, first aid station, medical office, sick bay, or something of that nature.

Sickroom – enfermaria
A room to which a sick person is confined. (Princeton's WordNet)

So to say, Infemary does not mean Enfermaria (at least not according to now-a-days meaning of 'enfermaria').

Notice the spelling syllabicated: in-firm-a-ry. The root word is "infirm", meaning old, feeble, unstable, etc.

I hazard the guess the a lot of native speakers (especially outside the UK) would not use either word. There are many other more current terms.

E o que é, exatamente, uma "enfermaria" em português? I'm not sure I know anymore.

"Infirmary" is still used in the US military. Possibly it is used in industry (a large company with its own medical staff).

At schools, it's called "the nurse's office" or merely "the nurse".
