A native English speaker told me it is "I am looking forward to meeting you" but I saw at a YouTube video an English teacher saying "I look forward to meeting you".
Which one is correct and why? And why "meeting" and not "meet"?

I look forward to meeting you" or I am looking forward to meeting you- you can use either. The former is more suitable for a formal situation, like job application, meeting,interview etc . The latter could be used in a more casual situation like talking to your friends or someone you are close to.
The phrasal verb 'look forward to'' must be followed by a verb in the -ING form (gerund).
So, for example:
Ex) I look forward to talkING to you or I'm looking forward to talkING.
Ex) I look forward to watchING that movie.
