Como dizer "Passar lotado - futebol" em inglês

Hey guys, how's it going?

I got into a doubt as I was talking to my cousin earlier today about soccer. At some point he said that the player 'passou lotado'.
In case you don't know this soccer expression, it means that the player "Veio com tudo, achou que ia roubar a bola mas tomou um drible desconcertante, entre outros"
I couldn't find anything in English that would match this expression.
