Como dizer "pra começo de história..." em inglês

Utiliza-se antes de retrucar com algum argumento.
Ou quando alguém pede alguma direção/opinião sobre determinado assunto sem antes mesmo saber o básico sobre.
Em inglês, geralmente é utilizado no final da frase:

...in the first place

→Example:
I didn't want to come here in the first place.
Pra começo de história, eu nem queria vir aqui.
