Flashmob just the same, we are trying to tell one apart from the other, but in English it is not.
Flashmob is a gathering usually summoned up through social media, in old (not so old days, it was by celular phone by a group of friends).
A flashmob could be to a number of motives, from to thanks a head master gone retired.http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/06 ... 70750.html
Or even just to meet in some place, public or private. Sometimes a flashmob goes aury.http://www.cleveland.com/world/index.ss ... ident.html
Strictly speaking the gathering is to show off some kind of dance, as you can see by three video clips. In fact, it´s just a way to "go out" and see friends. Since, mainly to the working class adolescents, there aren´t much public spaces to go and have some activity (dance/sports for example).
This, along with the divorcing of the subjects of school (that is, sometimes what they learn in school is not enough to land them a job), makes them to stick to each other. Soy they go to a place to say "hello world" we are here!, notice that
is noticeable that to higher classes somebody, I don´t know who, perhaps even they themselves organize the thing, there are instruments, uniform and the police is let know beforehand (and the number of them deemed manageable). Which, in a way, makes it acceptable.
There´s nothing wrong with any kind of flashmob in itself. Indeed the hijacking of it by people with intent of personal gain and less than recreative purposes it´s that turn it into flash robberies.http://www.futurecrimes.com/article/whe ... me-mobs-2/
But, then, flashmob to mean both, the working class teenagers meetings and to that of richer ones.
