Em meu curso tinha uma frase dessas...e estava assim: I know a little English.
A expressão a little significa um pouco. A expressão "I know a little English" equivale a "Eu sei um pouco de inglês" ou "Eu sei inglês um pouco."
Para dizer "Eu sei pouco inglês" ou "Eu sei inglês pouco", recomendo "I know (very) little English."
Bons estudos.

Show, mas ficou uma dúvida pendente, o uso do "has" na frase "She has little knowledge of fashion. [Ela entende pouco de moda.]"
Queria entender melhor, o por que utiliza o verbo "have" na frase.
Poderiam explicar melhor, ou algum link pra tirar essa dúvida.
Obrigado.

Oi, Brendon.
A expressão é "have knowledge of", e ela significa ao pé da letra "ter conhecimento de". Na prática, é uma boa maneira de se dizer "entender de" um assunto.
She has little knowledge of fashion. [Ela tem pouco conhecimento de moda. / Ela entende pouco de moda.]
She has: ela tem
Little: pouco
Na terceira pessoa do singular (do simple present) usamos "has" no lugar de "have".

There are also 'workarounds' (indirect ways) sometimes used to mean that:

I can spot at least 20 poorly dressed males who are guilty of nothing more than having a poor knowledge of fashion.

Not knowing much about something
Lendo esse tópico, me lembrei de uma canção de Sam Cooke "(What a) Wonderful world":
Don't know much about history,
Don't know much biology.
Don't know much about a science book,
Don't know much about the French I took.
But I do know that I love you,
And I know that if you love me, too,
What a wonderful world this would be.
Don't know much about geography,
Don't know much trigonometry.
Don't know much about algebra,
Don't know what s slide rule is for.
But I know that one and one is two,
And if this one could be with you,
What a wonderful world this would be".

Great music, Telma. At first I thought it was you making forays into poetry!
Anyway, it's such a great find! Congrats and thanks for sharing.
