Sort out x Figure out

Hey guys, how are you? I know the meaning of Figure out, but I was watching a movie and then someone said "You have to sort this problem out" and I guess they are synonymous. Are they synonymous? If they are not, what's the difference between them? Thank you!

Figure out é mais como entender, descobrir algo, ou como algo funciona
Já o sort out é o mesmo que solve.

One of the definitions of "sort out" (Per Cambridge Dict.)
"to deal satisfactorily or successfully with a problem, a situation, or a person who is having difficulties"
So, would be in this sense, the same as "figure out", just like Daniel Reis has pointed out.
So many "OUTs", he he.
