Bounce back and forth - Tradução em português
Boa Noite galera
Estava lendo a edição 18 de The Walking Dead e me deparei com essa expressão dita por Dale, na frase:
"Rick bounces back and forth between sickeningly optimistic and completely enraged."
Consegui entender o sentido da expressão a frase, que diz algo como "Rick muda de humor muito bruscamente", mas não consegui traduzir isso de uma maneira mais apropriada
Any thoughts???

É que estou fazendo um vocabulário conforme estou lendo a HQ. O que eu não consigo encontrar é uma definição(em inglês) pra esse uso específico da expressão. Acho que me expliquei mal no 1° post xP

(O comportamento de) Rick vai de um extremo ao outro, mudando/oscilando de absurdamente otimista a completamente encolerizado/enfurecido.
It doesn´t have to be abruptly (it may or may not), the emphasis is on the change of behavior and perhaps the frequency (that is, people would say so, when it happens frequently.)
Without context, I won´t state that Rick´s case is that of being sudden and unexpected. However it could be.

The definition of schizophrenic is something relating to the mental disorder characterized by hallucinations, delusions, disorganization and conflicting personalities.
An example of schizophrenic used as an adjective is the phrase "schizophrenic disorder" which means a disorder where a person changes personalities frequently.

Back and forth gives an idea of "pêndulo"
On Google you can see some other examples, say the school where the students switch "back and forth" between English and Spanish at a given school. In your search, you may also see hits in wich "someone bounces back and forth" between London and New York (so he/she has two homes, lives in two places/travels to both places) etc... That is, he/she "vai de um lugar para o outro frequentemente."
