Surgical staples - Tradução em português

Preciso escrever um artigo em português, e preciso traduzir "Surgical Staples"... alguém sabe como se diz isso em português. Seria "Grampos cirúrgicos"??? Dúvida cruel. Pior que na wikipédia não tem. Dai para "google this" fica difícil tbm... Se ajudar, tem a definition da wikipedia in English:

"Surgical staples are specialized staples used in surgery in place of sutures to close skin wounds, connect or remove parts of the bowels or lungs. A more recent development, from the 1990s, uses clips instead of staples for some applications; this does not require the staple to penetrate."
