We stroll arm in arm - Tradução em português

"Where is the best place to go for a stroll?" Is this sentence used in US, which sentence - with the same meaning - could be used in a casual situation? (Qual o melhor lugar para dar um passeio?)

Now, another question: in the dictionaries when we look up words like "year" or "you" we find the phonetik symbol "j" what is the exacty diference to the other phonetik symbol "i"? E.g when native English speaker ask: "what is your name?" they used to pronouce it like "what is jor name?" How can we clearly separate these two sounds?
