Estou na dúvida porque nesse caso, a ação continua acontecendo.

Eu não usaria a negativa nessa frase, porque é muito incomum dizerem assim. O mais comum é:
I still have a lot to live (for).
I still have a lot to live (for).
Suggestion:
Ex: I haven't lived a lot.
Ex: I haven't lived a lot.
