I saw only blackness at first, and the moon's white trail across the water. But I searched the space where he pointed until I found a low black shape breaking into the sheen of moonlight on the waves. As I squinted into the darkness, the silhouette became more detailed. The shape grew into a squat, irregular triangle, with one side trailing longer than the other before sinking into the waves. We drew closer, and I could see the outline was feathery, swaying to the light breeze.

No começo eu só via escuridão, e o rastro (ou reflexo) da lua atráves da água. Mesmo assim procurei o local para o qual ele tinha apontado até que encontrei alguma coisa surgindo por entre a luz do luar nas ondas. Quanto mais eu tentava ver na escuridão, mais clara (mais detalhada) a silhueta se tornava. A coisa crescia e ia tomando a forma, de um triangulo irregular, com um lado mais longo que o outro, antes que fosse submerso pelas ondas. Nos aproximamos, e eu pude ver algo com forma plumosa, balançando com a leve brisa.

I was more focused on the absolutely huge white bed in the center of the room, hung with billowy clouds of mosquito netting.

Eu estava mais concentrada na imensa cama branca no centro do quarto, coberto com um ondulante mosqueteiro.
