Lendo o livro on the brink do ex-secretário do tesouro norte-americano Henry Paulson, deparei me com o phrasal verb hammer out.

Entendi o sentido mas não consigo figure out alguma expressão em Português. Alguns exemplos que encontrei na internet:

Ex: After months of just talk, we have begun to hammer out a deal which will join our two companies.

Ex: We'd been arguing about the issue for weeks, so the four of us got together to hammer it out.

Ex: It took weeks of negotiations to hammer out an acceptable compromise.
