A ave facilmente ganhou (venceu) da internet, provocando (dando início a) um debate sobre velocidades de internet.
-Bem, isso certamente é revelador (é de espantar/é de dar o que pensar). Aqui a gente gastando tempo com a nossa tecnologia ineficiente e os bichos (aves aqui) acaba de nos derrotar (na área da velocidade de transporte de dados)!
I found it perhaps would be more enlightening for you to see it taken in the whole context. Maybe more than the isolated expression. Hope it helps!
