Tailgate - Tradução em português

I was invited to attend a party called tailgate.

A friend of mine (who invited me) told me that it is a kind of party which takes place before a sport game (usually football) in the parking lot of the stadium. People drink a lot and then go into the stadium.

Tailgate can work as a noun, as above mentioned, or as a verb: They are tailgating. / Let´s tailgate before the game. / We usually tailgate only before the final match.

I don´t check this in a dictionary, but it was told me by a person who lives in New York, so, I think it´s correct.

Parece que uma boa tradução é o nosso popular "esquenta" ou "aquecimento".
