Como dizer "deixar de fazer algo" em inglês

I was wondering how I could say this sentence in English:

Eu não vou deixar de gostar de vc por isso.

ou

Eu não pude deixar de dizer o que eu tava pensando.

I know there might be some other ways to say these sentences but what I'm really interested

in is: any expressions or phrases in English that would sound as close as possible to "deixar de fazer algo" in

Portuguese.
