Do-gooder, to pony up - Tradução em português
Hi folks,
Today I was reading a comic book and I came across with the following sentence.
The Green-skinned Goliath has returned from Planet Hulk and he wants to pay back the do-gooders who ponied up for that supposedly one-way ticket into outer space!
Here is a brief explanation for these two words.
They are both slang expressions. "Do-gooder" is a noun, and it means a person who always tries to do what they think is the the right thing according to popular opinion. "Pony up" is a verb, and it means to pay.
to pay back= to revenge yourself on somebody (vingar-se de alguém).
see ya!
