Exemplo 1: Everyone has responsibilities to make sure that the load is safe and it’s not enough to simply assume the driver is the only responsible party once the vehicle leaves your site or rely on not having had something go badly wrong before. Ref. staffordshire.police

Exemplo 2: Mr McCabe told the court that the day he received Fancourt J’s draft judgment was the worst day of his life, and that he had never in his business career had something go so badly wrong as losing ownership of the club to Prince Abdullah. Ref. legalfutures.co

Obs 1: A depender do contexto, a tradução de had something go wrong será "teve/tivemos/tiveram... Algo errado".

Exemplo 3: A postal worker and a car driver had something go "a tad wrong" in a crash which saw a post van nearly on its side in a lane, police say. Ref. bbc

Exemplo 4: There were a couple of guys who lived up the road and they had something go wrong with their gas fireplace. I went round and after sorting their fireplace problem, they showed me the gym in their garden and it had a rainbow rugby ball in it. Ref. therpa.co

Obs 2: É comum utilizar advérbios entre "go" e "wrong", conforme se vê nos exemplos 1, 2 e 3.

A 'workaround way' could be "something is not right" (algo não está certo/...algo não está bem, etc): It's also common when you feel something is "off";
If your warning bells are going off, giving you the feeling something is not right, get out of the situation.
